Nagalur is a village of about nineteen square kilometres in Anthiyur block, Anthiyur taluk, with Anthiyur town some four and a half kilometres to the north-east and Athani about four to the south-west, in the 638314 PIN code. The 2011 census counted around 6,400 people in 1,900 households, and the gram panchayat is written Nagalore in the records.
Sitting between two towns is exactly why people build here: a house in Nagalur is a short ride from the Anthiyur market and the Athani bridge road, on a plot that is larger than either town offers. The gram panchayat is recorded as Nagalore, and the plan approval goes there — not to Anthiyur Town Panchayat and not to Athani, although both are a few minutes away. We put the panchayat name, the survey number and the patta on the application exactly as the records have them, because a mismatch is a common reason a file is returned.
A small reserve forest inside the village
The Nagalur reserve forest — about 226 hectares — is part of the Thanthai Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary notified in 2023. A plot that borders it is a different conversation from one in the middle of the village, so we check the survey number against the forest boundary before drawing anything.
Water is designed, not assumed
Away from the town supply a house here runs on a borewell, a sump and an overhead tank, and in a farming village the tank often serves the field as well. Tank size, pump head and overflow are part of the house design, and every tank we build is pressure-tested before handover.

Does a plot in Nagalur go to Anthiyur Town Panchayat for approval?
No. Nagalur is a village panchayat, so the building permission goes through the Nagalore gram panchayat, with a DTCP-approved layout where the plot has been divided out of a larger piece. We confirm the boundary from your survey number and carry the file.
Do you build small-budget houses as well as farm sheds?
Yes. A family house designed to the plot and the budget is the main thing we build here, and a storage, cattle or poultry shed beside it is one of our eight types. Both go on the same drawings and the same contract.
