Salangapalayam is a town on the Sathy–Bhavani Main Road in Bhavani taluk, Erode district, in the 638455 PIN code it shares with Kavindapadi. It is a large one — over twenty-four square kilometres, fifteen wards and forty-two habitations, with more than fifteen thousand people in the 2011 census — and it was run as a first-grade town panchayat until it was merged with P. Mettupalayam and Kavindapadi to form Kavindapadi Municipality.
People here earn from the land and the loom: paddy, sugarcane, turmeric and banana in the fields, and mats woven on a scale that is exported.
