Modern contemporary homes
Clean lines, open plans and honest light — homes designed around how you actually live, in materials that still look new years after handover.
Vanavasi · Mettur taluk, Salem district
Houses with a loom room, shops and godowns in the handloom-saree town of Nangavalli block — designed around the work the family does.

Vanavasi is a small town panchayat of twelve wards in Mettur taluk, Salem district, PIN 636457, on the Nangavalli–Jalakandapuram road in Nangavalli block. It is about twenty-two kilometres south-east of Mettur and twenty north of Edappadi, with a little over seven thousand people in the 2011 census. It was constituted a panchayat in 1952 and is now a second-grade town panchayat.
The town is known for its cotton handloom sarees, and much of that weaving happens in and beside homes rather than in a factory. So a house here often has to do two jobs — living space and working space under one roof — and alongside it we are asked for the shop, the yarn or saree godown, and the sump and tank that serve the house. We build all of it from one contract.
What we build here
Clean lines, open plans and honest light — homes designed around how you actually live, in materials that still look new years after handover.
Factories, warehouses and workshops built around your process — long clear spans, heavy-duty floors and roofs sized for the loads they carry.
Showrooms, offices and retail blocks planned for footfall, daylight and a fast fit-out, so the space starts earning from the day it opens.
Overhead tanks, sumps, treatment plants and pipelines — watertight construction backed by the pressure testing and certification to prove it.
Independent villas on your own plot or inside a gated layout, with generous rooms, private outdoor space and finishes chosen to outlast fashion.
Local conditions
A handloom needs a room with a stable floor, a pit where the loom wants one, daylight without glare and air that moves. Planned into the house from the first sketch — floor loading, power routing, a separate door for the trade — it costs little; retrofitted into a finished bedroom it never works well. We design the two halves together.
Vanavasi is a town panchayat, so plan approval goes to the Vanavasi Town Panchayat rather than to Nangavalli or a village panchayat, and a plot in a new layout adds a DTCP step. The town is small and the limit is close, so we confirm the boundary from your survey number before drawing.
A godown that keeps cotton yarn and finished sarees through the monsoon needs a raised plinth, a damp-proof course that is actually continuous, and a roof detail that does not drip onto the stock. It costs very little at the drawing stage and a great deal to put right afterwards.
Questions
Yes. Vanavasi is inside our working area along with Nangavalli and Mettur, and the site gets our own supervisor at every structural stage. We plan the visits around the pours rather than a fixed weekday.
Yes, and it is worth planning as one building rather than a house with an extension. Floor, power, light, ventilation and a separate access all get easier and cheaper when they are on the first drawing.
Yes. Commercial buildings and storage sheds are two of our eight building types, and a shop or godown can be its own contract or part of the house job.
